School Field Trips

The New Buffalo Elementary fifth grade Spanish class students had an opportunity to tour, El Rancho Grande. The owner, Pete, gave the students a guided tour of the restaurant and shared many of the historical and cultural artifacts displayed. Each student also watched a cooking demonstration in the kitchen and several students participated on the grill and serving. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and they represented our elementary school in such a respectful way. A BIG thank you goes out to “El Rancho Grande” who made this memorable experience possible for our students!

Muchas Gracias!

The New Buffalo High School’s Advanced Photography class was invited to meet the artist that is painting murals inside the restaurant. The murals are located in the upper portion adjacent to the route of the Aristo Craft Train. The class was able to ask questions and see her work which describes certain historical moments of our country. They enjoyed a tour of the restaurant, learning of the history and of the themes of every room which includes the Alamo. Though our restaurant was not scheduled to be open, the class was able to enjoy complimentary chips and salsa and refreshments.

A field trip was organized by Lisa Warner for the New Buffalo Elementary School class. The field trip consisted of a discussion of the history of the Alamo, Native Americans, & John Wayne. The students also toured the kitchen to see how their entrees were prepared.

Tour & Group Buses

We want to welcome all bus terminals and companies to El Rancho Grande Restaurant and Cantina in New Buffalo, Michigan. We realize that the majority of the bus routes in the northern sector of Michigan utilize I-80/94 going north or south. We are located approximately 1 1/2 miles off of I-80/94 exit 1. Go north to the only light in New Buffalo and at the light turn right. We are two blocks down on the left.

As you can see in our photos, our parking lot is very large, making access for buses easy. We can hold 5-7 buses even when the restaurant is busy. During your stay at El Rancho Grande, we have a holding area for the buses to park as well.

We also offer a group discount menu with 20 or more persons. Please call a week in advance for reservations.

Corvette Club

El Rancho had the pleasure of a visit from the Corvette Club which was founded in 1957. Michiana Corvette Club, is to pursue the enjoyment of Corvettes between the years of 1953 to present. They were delighted with the historic artifacts on exhibit.

PT Cruiser Club

In the summer of 2009, El Rancho Grande had the honor of hosting the Michiana PT Cruiser Club. They had dined in our unique John Wayne Western Room, which held 28 of their members comfortably. It was quite a site seeing them leave in formation, and cruise away.

Motorcycle Club

The Brotherhood of Bikers paid a visit to the Ranch in 2009. This fun loving group is what life is all about. Riding and traveling is an occasion or event we would all look forward on doing. It takes a unique personality to unite together as one.
